Faith

I’ve lost faith in many things in my life, including humanity itself.

But sometimes, I catch a small glimpse of light in a person that causes me, the eternal skeptic, to question, well, myself.

Trying to prove something doesn’t exist is rather futile in both time and energy, so, being logical to my core, it is acceptable for me to admit that I don’t know all the answers, that anything is possible, and that really, it’s the little things that matter… like the laughter of a happy child or snuggles on the sofa with a furry friend or s’mores in the fireplace for dessert.

Listen to the mustn’ts, child. Listen to the don’ts. Listen to the shouldn’ts, the impossibles, the won’ts. Listen to the never haves, then listen close to me… Anything can happen, child. Anything can be.” – Shel Silverstein
